I was born and raised in Acworth, Georgia and, believe it or not, started my career in theater as an actor. I spent two summers, one in Winfield, Kansas and another in Lincoln, New Hampshire, taking roles in productions such as <\/span>Secret Garden<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>To Kill A Mockingbird<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Damn Yankees<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>Man of La Mancha<\/span><\/i>. Pretty soon, however, I realized that the life of a starving artist wasn\u2019t for me and eventually moved into theatrical design and production, which ultimately led me to branding and design. My parents were so relieved.<\/span><\/p>\n I worked in many areas of event production and design and found myself spending more and more of my time on marketing and branding projects. Many clients hired me to design their company exhibits and, once the job was completed, would then ask if I could also design their websites, business cards, or new logos. I kept saying yes and in 2003, I started my studio from a tiny apartment in Washington, D.C. as a multi-disciplined brand design firm.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Now, what\u2019s your job going to be.\u201d<\/p>\n In fact, I\u2019ve had a pretty diverse employment background. After moving to Washington, DC shortly after marrying my college sweetheart, I worked on Capitol Hill as a Senate staffer, office manager in a lobbying firm, and advocacy director for a national organization.<\/p>\n Then, after the birth of our first child, my husband and I returned home to my hometown in south Georgia. Since then, I\u2019ve been a high school English literature teacher, a public relations manager for a small healthcare organization, and, now as an office manager for a non-profit.<\/p>\n A few years ago, I began writing professionally and have a real passion for it.
